Harewood House
Harewood House, home to the Queen's cousin, the Earl of Harewood, provides a wonderful day out for all the family. The House, with its outstanding art collections, splendid State Rooms and fascinating 'Below Stairs' exhibition, is set in spectacular grounds, which include formal gardens and gentle woodland walks.
Harrogate
The Harrogate district is the place to be for museums and galleries, heritage, sport and the great outdoors. Fabulous shopping, cafe culture, fine cuisine, glorious gardens a reputation for style, graceful architecture and a glamorous heritage as a European spa town.
Lotherton Hall & Bird Garden
Lotherton Hall is a beautiful country house surrounded by historic gardens. The house contains rich collections of paintings, sculpture, furniture, silver, ceramics, silver, jewellery, Oriental art and costume. The estate also has a deer park and a bird garden with rare and endangered species.
Royal Armouries
The Famous Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds is located near to Crown Point Bridge and Clarence Docks and is one of the worlds great museum's, with 8,000 spectacular exhibits - 3000 years of history.
Temple Newsam House
At Temple Newsam you can explore three floors of a magnificent country house, admire beautiful paintings, furniture and silver. Free audio guides take you on special tours around the house. Afterwards stroll down to the largest rare breeds centre in the world at Home Farm.
Bramham Park
Bramham Park is a splendid Queen Anne mansion, containing fine collections of furniture, porcelain and paintings and is set in the peaceful tranquillity of 66 acres of formal grounds and 100 acres of pleasure grounds. The gardens are unique in the British Isles for their 'grand vista' design inspired by Andre le Notre, who created Versailles.
Yorkshire Dales
The Yorkshire Dales is an area of great natural beauty in northern England, a large part of which has been designated as one of England and Wales' protected national parks. Having featured in several television series and films of recent years (e.g. James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small", ITV's soap opera " Emmerdale", the Hollywood movie "Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves", as well as the recently premiered " Calendar Girls", etc), tourism plays an increasing part in the life of the Yorkshire Dales today. For sheer solitude and unspoiled natural beauty, the Yorkshire Dales remains one of England's "crown jewels", and no visit to the north should be complete without exploring some of the country's finest limestone scenery !
Leventhorpe Vineyard
Leventhorpe Vineyard, situated within the boundaries of the City of Leeds, is England’s most northerly commercial vineyard. It’s within easy reach of the M1 motorway and rail network. The vineyard revives the tradition of wine making in Yorkshire established by the Cistercian monks of Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds and the Benedictines of York.
